The fact that it’s beautiful is just a lovely bonus. Contrary to popular opinion, I actually really like its noisy design — it seems very “Japanese” to me. In terms of how well its made, it’s leagues above any of the Staedtlers or Castells, but then, it does cost me £2 per pencil from the gift shop in the local art gallery, so I am paying for the difference.

I really hate the stickered barcodes on the Monos; I find the glue almost impossible to get off cleanly, so I end up with gunk on the end for a while. I much prefer the embossed barcodes — I really don’t mind them that much.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1304925401727358614.post-80418655737720840832010-09-26T22:32:29.181+01:002010-09-26T22:32:29.181+01:00Yes, I probably do hold the pencil with more force...Yes, I probably do hold the pencil with more force (though I am trying not to). I write a lot of notes at work (either in meetings or keeping track of technical stuff too boring to mention here), so comfort is a big issue for me.

I'm not bothered by pencils rolling off the desk!Stationery Traffichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18330657534212309939noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1304925401727358614.post-7230776838982384542010-09-26T21:57:52.463+01:002010-09-26T21:57:52.463+01:00Great review, you pay attention to details I have ...Great review, you pay attention to details I have only noticed on a subconscious level until now. Personally I prefer hexagonal pencil to round ones, just because they don't tend to roll away ...and I never found hexagonal pencils "a pain" so far, so I assume you write for much longer or you grip the pencil with more force.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
