Papermate Mirado Classic HB/No.2 Pencil

  1. The samples I sent were selected purely at random, so as not to bias the review by supplying unrealistically flawless examples. In my stash, there are some with slight paint spillage over the ferrule, and the occasional misaligned lead, but overall, but the quality is excellent for a “basic” office pencil. I use these as my main daily pencil, both at home and at work, and find it fits the rĂ´le perfectly.

The seller I bought them from seems to have a huge supply, and has more for sale on eBay. At 14p a pencil (or cheaper if you buy more than one pack), they’re an excellent buy.

  2. Of course, I can only go by the sample I had to hand and no doubt the QC could be a bit variable. Still, not a bad office pencil, and it lasts a long time on a single sharpening.

  3. If you like, I’m more than happy to send you a few more samples, including some of the less-than-perfect ones.

Did the ones I sent have graphite smudges on the eraser? Most of mine do, which is more to do with their packaging than their manufacture.

  4. Yes please - and I think there was some graphite on the eraser. No doubt it got there from being in transit.

  5. I enjoy your woodcase pencil reviews. Hurry them up already : > )
Do you use something with ruled lines beneath your writing surface?

    Happy New Year

  6. Hi Anonymous and Happy New Year

No, I don't use anything with rules underneath the paper, but I know I should.
